Metropolitan Utility LLC is a private utility company that collects annual payments to recapture the installation costs of public sewer and water infrastructure.  The water and sewer infrastructure has been installed by a homebuilder or developer and hooked up to individual new homes. Governmental entities historically have installed water and sewer infrastructure and then recovered their installation costs via a Front Foot Benefit Collection fee. More recently, this role has been shifted to private developers and homebuilders.
